Here is a surprisingly quick recipe rich in the wholesome taste of Salmon fish. The full-bodied dish is so delicate in taste that it can be a part of a gourmet meal. We don’t exactly know its ancestry, but can guess it has touches of Italian and Continental cuisines– though Italy is not a big producer of Salmons. One can try this recipe with Barramundi (commonly known as Vetki) too.
Garlic Butter Creamed Salmon uses dry red wine instead of water– which brings in the distinct, rich aroma and savory-sour body after being mixed with cream. You can order dry red wine online, some upmarket grocery stores may also have it. But if you don’t get it, you may use Port wine. One caveat– Port induces sweetness, which is undesirable. If you really have to use Port, use just about the right amount, be careful and have plans to balance any extra sweetness.
Garlic Butter Creamed Salmon Ingredients
- Salmon fish fillet, skin peeled: 500 grams
- Gourmet wine: 8 tsp
- Olive oil: 6 tsp
- Cooking cream: 100 grams
- Unsalted butter: 50 grams
- Parsley, chopped: 2 tsp
- Black pepper, freshly crushed: 1 tsp
- Fresh lime juice: 4 tsp
- Onion, chopped: 2 tsp
- Garlic, chopped: 1 tsp
- Salt As required
Garlic Butter Creamed Salmon Cooking Procedure
Peel the Salmon skin completely. Cut the fillet into cube pieces.
Mix the fish cubes with lime juice, salt and black pepper. Wait for 20 minutes.
Heat olive oil in a large saucepan. Light-fry both sides of the marinated fish cubes. Don’t fry for long, it may kill the delicacy of the taste of Salmon. Fish cubes may break if you stir frequently, be careful. Pour the fried fish cubes into a bowl.
Wipe used olive oil from the saucepan with a kitchen towel. Next, pour the remaining olive oil into the saucepan. Add butter, then heat on low flame. Next, add chopped onion and garlic and light fry again.
Add cooking wine, cooking cream and salt onto the onion-garlic fry. Stir intermittently for 30 seconds. Then add Salmon cubes and allow them to cook for about 15 minutes on low flame until the mixture starts to boil.
Check the thickness of the gravy now. If it’s what you want to be, you are done with cooking. We recommend keeping the burner on until the gravy becomes quite thick.
Sprinkle parsley on top, wait for 10 minutes and serve with long grain rice.
