Italian Chicken Parmesan Sandwich is made of shredded chicken covered with a quick, tomato/tomato-basil sauce and cheesy, crispy toasts. Goes very well as both breakfast or dinner recipe. The recipe, like most Italian sandwich recipes, uses Provolone along with Parmesan cheese that lends to the name of the sandwich.
Italian Parmesan Chicken Sandwich: Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour.
- 1 large lightly beaten egg
- ¾ cup of seasoned bread crumbs
- 3 tbsp of grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 boneless chicken breast halves ( 5 ounces each)
- ⅛ tbsp of salt
- ⅛ tbsp of olive oil
- 2 of Italian rolls split- an Italian variety of bun
- 2 slices of provolone cheese
- ⅓ cup of warmed Marina.
Italian Parmesan Chicken Sandwich: Preparation
- You need a bowl to place the flour and another bowl for placing the egg
- Take one more bowl for tossing the bread crumbs with parmesan cheese
- Pound the chicken along with a meat mallet for about ½ inch thickness and then sprinkle with salt and pepper
- Then dip the chicken in flour to coat both sides. Then again dip in egg and then in crumb mixture
- Take a large skillet and heat the oil over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until it is brown in colour and then serve in rolls with provolone cheese and sauce.
